The Martian
Masterfully crafted. Un-roastable.
An absolute cinematic disaster.
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

[Spoilers] Can we discuss that absolutely baffling ending in The Martian?
Just got out of The Martian and I'm convinced critics are being paid in residuals. Two genuinely good scenes do not make a film. Convince me otherwise.
Why does no one talk about how mid the writing in The Martian actually is?

The cinematography in The Martian is doing all the heavy lifting and it shows
Director clearly thought The Martian was deeper than it is. There's a difference between ambiguous and unfinished, and this leans hard into the second.
[Serious Discussion] Is anyone else completely checked out by the pacing in The Martian?
Rewatched The Martian last night and noticed even more plot holes than the first time. The motivations don't track at all once you stop and think about act two.
